🎮 FPS & Anti-Lag Settings

Midgard MU includes a custom FPS and Anti-Lag configuration system that allows every player to adjust the game client according to their computer performance and personal preference.

All settings can be found inside the game client folder:

After changing any setting, save the file and restart the game client.

🎮 FPS Settings

Setting Function
AutoStartFPS=25 Original MU Online FPS. FPS Boost disabled.
AutoStartFPS=26 to 40 Select any custom FPS value between 26 and 40.
AutoStartFPS=41 Maximum available FPS cap.
ShowFPSCounter=0 FPS counter hidden after login.
ShowFPSCounter=1 FPS counter automatically displayed after login.

💡 About the 41 FPS Limit

The FPS Boost was originally developed around a stable 30 FPS target. During development we found that the game client could be pushed further, so players are allowed to select values up to a maximum of 41 FPS.

41 FPS is the maximum available cap, not a guaranteed constant FPS.

Your actual FPS depends on your computer hardware, current map, number of nearby players, monsters, visual effects and Anti-Lag configuration.

If your computer cannot maintain 41 FPS smoothly, try lowering the value to 35 FPS or 30 FPS.

Use ALT + R at any time to show or hide the FPS counter.

⚡ Automatic Anti-Lag

The Anti-Lag system normally uses the SHIFT + number hotkeys. FPS_Settings.ini allows you to select which Anti-Lag options should activate automatically after your character enters the game.

1 Automatically activate this option after character login.

You can still enable or disable all Anti-Lag functions manually while playing.

⚠️ Important Notes

  • SHIFT + 6: Provides a very high performance gain, but hiding items and characters can affect item pickup cursor behavior in monster spots.
  • SHIFT + 8: Is not included in the configuration file as we prefer players to use the independented options instead.
  • F8: Manually hides the game interface and gains enormous performance, can be useful in PvP for maximum performance possible.

⏱️ Anti-Lag Activation Timing

Setting Function
LoginDelayMs=1000 Waits 1 second after character login before activating selected Anti-Lag options.
KeyHoldMs=200 Controls how long each SHIFT + number shortcut remains pressed.
KeySpacingMs=200 Waits 200 milliseconds between each enabled Anti-Lag shortcut.

We recommend leaving these timing values at their default settings.

⌨️ Automatic Startup Keys

The client can also automatically press F6 and Insert shortly after your character enters the game.

Setting Function
AutoPressF6=1 Automatically presses F6 after character login.
AutoPressInsert=1 Automatically presses Insert after character login.
LoginDelayMs=3000 Waits 3 seconds after login before activating the startup keys.
KeyHoldMs=100 Controls how long each startup key remains pressed.
BetweenKeysMs=200 Delay between the automatic F6 and Insert key presses.

Set AutoPressF6 or AutoPressInsert to 0 if you do not want the corresponding key to activate automatically.
